Norma Owen, Futurist

Norma Owen is a natural strategist, futurist, speaker, author, entrepreneur, catalyst and all around cheerleader for creating a better future.

Norma envisions a world filled with inspired talent expressing their potential, innovation that uplifts the human race, and where a personal robot is programmed to fetch great chocolate on demand.

As President of Avadon, Norma is on a mission with her phenomenal colleagues to launch the Self Leadership Path. This thought provoking workshop is a visual display and small group discussion for organizations to explore the forces of change and current trends impacting work. Norma is also Resident Futurist for Ecoland Institute.

With more than 20 years of experience as a veteran futurist focused on the future of work and talent development ecosystems, Norma designs and pilots some of the most innovative 21st Century human capital development programs for organizations and communities. Norma was thrilled and honored to be part of the team to co-author Foresight 2025 ~ A View of the Future of Work.

Most recently, Norma collaborated to bring the Future of Work to San Luis Obispo, CA and with the Nuclear Industry to innovate and create continuous improvement solutions all wrapped up with recognition of talent and career development.  One of her most notable projects was leading a group of highly skilled facilitators, and just down right great people, to create and provide a career transition program for more than 5000 participants during the height of the recession in Wake County, North Carolina.

As part of her community give back, Norma aided transitional programs for Domestic Violence and served as a voice and advocate for new community education pathways for the homeless at the state and national levels.

When Norma is not watching trends, creating talent ecosystems, speaking, writing, consulting or creating courses to help leaders navigate the future, you can find her touring the country with her husband on their motorcycles, or visiting and playing with their grandchildren in Texas.
